What kind of teenager were you? What’s cool is that you can’t put Lady Bird in a specific place in high school. I think Lady Bird is so driven and has this badass mentality and doesn’t let any group define her. You hang out with different people or join different clubs. Some people have the same friends their entire life and others like to try out different things. I think in high school you go through different phases. You don’t see her in this one clique that defines who she is. I think what is amazing about Lady Bird is that you don’t just see her in one place. What message do you think “Lady Bird” is trying to convey when it comes to fitting in as a teenager? We had this incredible script and nothing really had to be changed. You can tell by the acting choices she’s made. I’ve really loved all the movies she’s written and acted in. I think she’s very intelligent. I think she is an artist and such a talented writer. She, Kyle, Jenna, and Jenna’s boyfriend head to prom, but Kyle wants to go to a party instead. ![]() Lady Bird discovers Kyle lied to her about having never lost his virginity, and, upset by the news, is comforted by her mother. Lady Bird lies about her family and her house in order to win over wealthy and popular Jenna, causing a rift between Lady Bird and Julie. In order to pursue her new, mysterious love interest, Kyle (Timothée Chalamet), she befriends Jenna (Odeya Rush). For a while, everything is going well, but she unexpectedly discovers that Danny is gay. ![]() At school, Lady Bird and her best friend, Julie (Beanie Feldstein), join the school play, where she meets her future boyfriend, Danny (Lucas Hedges).
